Hi All,
New to the forum. Just picked up a KX. Nice camera.
Long time (read that as old) photography guy. Have had darkrooms, actually worked for a couple of major companies and consider myself an optics and camera buff. I've only been using point and shoot cameras and decided to step up to a DSLR.
Found a great deal on a used KX.
I had a Vivitar Series 1 600 MPO and a Quantary Tech 10 PF AF lens that I figured would add to the 18-55 that is on the camera.
So far so good. Easy to use. Love the shake reduction and the imbedded HDR.
I only gave the flash a rudimentary try.
Does the Vivitar TTL function the same as the PTTL?
Anything else I might want to know about this flash on this camera?

Welcome, greatnw.

I can't help much, but I just wanted to warn you about the potentially hazardous trigger voltage of some older flashes when used on DSLRs (your K-x could get fried).

Thanks! Those threads were helpful and the voltage site saved me from even thinking about sticking a 283 I had on top of the KX. That would have been bad!
Here is the good news. The Series 1 MPO uses 6.88 volts to trigger the flash. No problem.
I also have a Vivitar 285HV made in Japan and it uses 8.65 volts. No problem there either.

Truth be told. I'll probably just use the 285hv until I feel like I need the PTTL.
