Both my brother and I have long standing elationships with pentax cameras. Yesterday my brother needed to upgrade the firmware on his camera to be able to format 8GB plus memory cards. He didn't get it to work and when I tried with mine it didn't work either. I have formatted the card and I end up with a DCIM folder on it which has a MISC subfolder. I assume I put the .bin file in the DCIM folder but when I didthat it didn't work. Any ideas or suggestions?

The .BIN file goes in the root of the card, not in the DCIM folder. The root is the top-level folder.
