US soldier Alex Jansen took his two Pentax Cameras, The K-7 and K-5 and tested just how weather sealed and dust proof they are.

Are Pentax Cameras *That* Wether Proof?

Although serving in Afghanistan, Alex was short of a real storm a the time of taking the video. He "compromised" by pouring a bag of sand on the poor bodies and rinsed them off in the showers. The cameras survived. Twice.

Impressive video that is going viral today. I think Heie needs to shoot video of some Canon/Nikon shooters in his platoon being challenged to do the same thing with their cameras.

I actually don't have a platoon - the mission is very specialized where I am in charge of 3 other soldiers (yes, that's right, the 4 of us mentor an entire company of 100 ANA soldiers...) And no one here has a DSLR other than me. BUT, I was washing the cameras off in front of some Polish soldiers, and they asked me "Is that Canon? Nikon?" "Nope, Pentax." And spent the next 10 minutes enlightening them on Pentax's offerings

Also, remember the fire in one of my updates? I ran into a Polish Special Forces soldier that was out with his K200D
