K100D Super or K200D ?

Hi,

I wanted to buy the K100D Super but as exit was announced K200D I have a little delayed.

I am quite surprised by the price difference between these two models. K100D with kit is around 470 euros. However, the K200D kit was announced at 749 euros.

I was willing to wait for the K200D but I wonder if the new functions of K200D justify this difference in price of approximately 280 euros.

Do You find the K200D really interesting?

I'm a novice but I'm hoping to learn.

470 euros for K100D Super kit? That's quite overpriced.

You may think so, but it includes all taxes and a healthcare package to die for!

K200D for no good reason other than Sv, weather sealing and 4 extra megapixels.

You folks in the UK get burned on your prices, but than again, I have no medical insurance.

Come to the US this spring and buy a K200D while you're here since our dollar is weak now.

I went with a k100D super in early Jan, knowing the 200 was coming. I tend to do a fair amount of available light photography and decided the 6 mp sensor was a good choice. I seldom make prints even as large as 8x10 and tend to do as little cropping as possible,so extra MP was not a major factor. The weather sealing would have been nice though. The fact I got the 2 lens kit fot what will be about $150 less than the 200 with just he one lens makes me a bit happy after the fact. Either one I am sure will make for a great camera for you.

I would buy a k10d instead of the k200d. you get the better interface design and it is locally on store. new the k10d costs about 600 €.
i see no advantage for the k200d over the k10d.

There are some K200D advantages compared to the K10D. I posted these elsewhere, so sorry for posting again, but here are some advantages:

*Improved Shake reduction system
*New Image processing pipeline (?less VPN)
*Customizable Image Modes and White Balance
*Improved RAW button
*Adjustable Noise reduction (off, weakest, weak, strong)
*Improved in camera image processing
*Improved Digital Preview (can save the preview if desired)
*New Dust Alert (mapping)
*2.7 inch LCD with 160 deg viewing angle (no mention as to whether or not it can be adjusted to the same degree as the one in the K20D)
*Enlarged and improved menus including scrolling text
*Dynamic Range Enlargement
*AF adjustment (haven't seen it confirmed if this for up to 20 lenses as it is in the K20D)
*AA batteries with available AA powered Grip
*Slightly less weight and bulk
*Presumably more digital filters available

But the regular k100d won't accept the new SDM lenses, if this person ever wants to really get a nice lens

Not positive, but I thought the 100d also did not do the SDHC cards.

I can't imagine that the K100D wouldn't support SDHC cards - my *ist DS does!!
