* If you don’t like the fact that the K20D is backward compatible with around twenty-four millions lenses sold by Pentax since the beginning of their first single lens reflex camera, then you don’t want the K20D.

* If you don’t need or will never need a flash sync for studio photography, don’t get the K20D.
Some points:

Backward compatibility?
If Pentax would add an aperture lever again: YES!
Otherwise an Olympus or Canon dslr would do it the same way....

Flash?
If Pentax could stand the voltage of old flashes like my Mewtz 45 CT-1: YES!

Pricewise:
If the new Pentax isn't far below the Oly E-3 it will be hard to sell the new ones numerously....
This it my alternative at least....

:-) Paul

Way to go, Heather! Nearly there! I think you're going to love the K10D...I'm seriously pleased with mine.

The K20D sounds pretty sweet with lots and lots of functions. Now if only there were some sort of 3rd party guide or book or something to intruct me on how to use my new K20D. hmmm....

Thanks for the opportunity of letting me announce that I am in the process of writing guides for the K20D and the K200D. I met with Pentax management last week, and I was able to obtain a K20D and a K200D for a short time.

The books should be out about the same time as the camera and maybe even sooner.
