I would LUV to see the Auto110 resurrected with a digital sensor, even if was of the P&S size. That would just be too cute.

I would love it an' hug it an' carry it everywhere!
I saw someone else chop a P&S and put it on an M series slr a while back in the forum.

Given the P&S sensor format. you should really look at trying something like that with a 110.

market would be pretty small however, since the present compact electronic viewfinder cameras have superb optics, and a zoom range that makes this format obsolite

There is more than a slight size difference between the E410 and E510. Numbers on a page don't do the difference justice. Pick them both up and you will go wow. I just bought the E330 for the pivoting lcd and live view A&B. Has its uses. Many Olympus people pray that there will be an E420 that is same size as E410 with IS. Don't know if it can be done. Even Pentax had to upsize the K100D to get SR into it. Olympus probably do it by designing another body since the E410 isn't as small as it could be (look at Pentax 110slr). There you go buy a Pentax 110.
thanks

Oh man, a digital 110 would be really great! I think someone posted this idea a couple of months back. Maybe as Pentax grows in profit, they might do a side project like this in the future.

Well, there you go. Hahaha. It still would be interesting to see a P&S-ish-sized sensor with interchangeable lenses.

It's interesting that you should mention something like this now. I tried sticking an M42 lens (135mm) on the body of my Pentax Optio S, and it didn't look half bad.
I don't see how it would be difficult to add a mount to the little body. I don't see why they haven't tried that already.

Um, might not sell as much? I suspect Hoya would not green-light this one.

Pentax DID have a prototype of a similar concept some time ago, right?

Yeah, I think I saw that, a compact camera with a K-mount in front of it. Would be nice for them to update the design and follow-through on the concept, but Hoya won't even consider funding that until the K200D and K20D, as well as the new lenses, show some profits (not hard to accomplish that).
