I tried the K-30 next to my K-x at the K-30 Tour and the K-30 was a bit quieter but not as quiet as the K-5 (by far, its whisper quiet).

I'd agree with Docrwm, it's definitely quieter than my K-x

We just looked/played with the Nikon D600: it is a lot smaller than the D3X so Karen can hold it but it the shutter is still far too loud for churches, etc. The combination of shutter quietness with portability combined with all the WR lenses drove up to Pentax; there is simply no other brand that offers that that I can see. So now to wait for the K5II vs IIs comparo so we can pick one.
