Migration to K10d complete!

Made the move about 2 weeks ago now from Canon to Pentax. With the exception of the underexposed banding issue, I am extremely pleased. Images right off the card are crisp and vibrant and the used glass out there is great. My 50mm 1.7 looks like a good copy (I just need to practice manual focusing..)

Got out today and went shooting for the first time (other than some snap shots)..

These were taken w/ the 16-45, 50-200 and the 50 1.7. Nothing spectacular, but had fun and enjoyed my K10!

Just thought I'd share!

Congrats on the switch. What Canon did you use? K10D is a nice camera. You will enjoy it and those lenses. So many used lenses. True treasures.
Like the gargoyle. Don't see those everywhere. Enjoy the new camera.
thanks

Thanks! I used to shoot a 30d.. It was a good system, but no weather sealing & no IS made me want to change.

I have a 28 2.8 coming in the mail from ebay this week and am looking forward to it.

Now if Tamron would get their 70-200 2.8 out, I would be all set!

30D is a nice camera. It is really big. The K10D is as big as I would want to use as my all around camera (have Pentax 6x7). Have a friend with Canon stuff we are always " " each others rigs. Think he wishes he bought the K10D.
Like the control set up on the K10D better than any Canon tried. Might be able to fix that in custom functions. What I can't fix is the lack of IS on so many lenses. Canon has no IS fisheye, fast 50, 100 & 200 macros. So many lenses so few actually IS, and such a price to get the few. Canon seems to be clueless what to bring out next. Their models are very minor updates. Always faster, and more MP. Not much else. If they aren't careful Nikon will pass them by. Of course thought the same of Nikon a few years ago.
Enjoy the new Pentax. They really feel like real photographers designed them. Little touches that don't show up on a spec sheet. A very "non-commitee" camera. Designed for photographers - not punters. Everyone said a $1000 camera w/o scene modes would flop. They sure were wrong.
thanks
