Count me in.
Maybe that could be applied to the next K5III and Pentax K-01 (plus adding View Finder for the coming Pentax K-01, so I can hold on buying the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and safe some cash for back-up gear and kept praising Pentax's old and new gems

Note and my voice. I vote for de-crippled full K-mount (with the stop-down coupler/indicator)

I'm in too! Pentax got some wonderful old glass that would benefit from it and I really can't thik that the cost would be that high nor would it "steal" sales from new lenses. Pentax would have the best mechanical DSLR mount!

I'm serious, I really don't understand what's so hot about an uncrippled K-mount. All it does is let the camera know at what aperture the lens is at so it can then calculate the appropriate shutter speed and iso... But then I'd still use the green button because the actual light measurement should be way more accurate then the information received from ~30 year old worn mechanics.

What? The green button? I don't even use that, I've removed the aperture lever from all my manual lenses so they work in AV-mode. Added benefit of that is the permanent DOF preview. And the fact that I can then mount them on my 5D without the mirror bouncing against the lever.
@Claviuis For the same reason all film camera lenses are all manual. It gives you the maximum amount of control, DOF, Focus, Dead lock exposure, and consistent settings, and results, if you want to shoot at f4 all day at 60fps, or whatever. It Is a great way to get a quick, dead on exposure, if you are shooting stills outside in full sun, without a meter,or the one in the camera making the final decisions is accurate, you will still want a hand meter to nail the important part of the frames exposure Every photographer should own hand meter, and nail the exposure, regardless of what the camera says.
P.S. Ever wonder why they still pay a camera assistant $1000.00 a day to make sure the aperture is correct, and all the frame rates are set,and shutter speed, all manual. And focus is still measured by a measuring tape. And manually focused. Why the old technology with the most expensive film gear? Consistency, and control.

Vote for K-mount

Vote for 1) de-crippled, i.e. restored Pentax K-mount; 2) aperture display of non-electric K-mount lenses in viewfinder; 3) focussing screen and compensating electronics where DA lenses and non-electronic K-mount lenses are treated at par by the exposure system, thus enabling accurate exposure readings.

I would definitely like an uncrippled mount.

Also I don't understand why there is an obscure default setting for most DSLRs of not allowing use of the aperture ring. Pentax say that to use old lenses you have to do the following on K10D and many other similar cameras:
Navigate menus to Using aperture ring
Press the right arrow and select Permitted
Press OK.
(This setting allows the camera to operate with older K-mount or S-mount lenses that do not have an A setting on the aperture ring).

The first lens I ever used on a K10D was a fixed aperture 500mm Mirror lens. I quickly found out that while the lens physically attaches to the body, easy use of old lenses was not actually high on the Pentax agenda. I suspect that it is still the case that if you attach such a lens to the latest Pentax DSLR straight off the shelf, it will be a big disappointment. After fiddling around in the menus, switching the focus mode lever to manual and pressing of supposed magic green buttons. If the camera allows you to take a picture at all, you can bet that the exposure will be out by a stop or two. Even the focus (manual) may not be right as the focussing screens are designed to be bright at the expense of accuracy.

I rather doubt that Pentax actually test their latest cameras with old manual lenses while still at the design stage when obvious issues could still be sorted out. More likely, if they test at all with old lenses, they find out after the design is set in stone whether it is possible to still use such lenses. If it's possible but awkward, then I think that constitutes a pass in their minds.

I'm in for a decrippled K-Mount. Combine that with a giant split-prism viewfinder and focus peaking on all models and I might just be persuaded to part with my K-7.
