I appreciate the effort to collect posts here, but I think we would have to set up an external poll (there are websites that allow that), since a lot of people might like to see an uncrippled K mount, even people who are not on this forum (even people who switched to other brands, for example)

I would argue more accurate metering.

To do this would require not only an uncrippeled mount but also inputting lens maximum aperture.
As I already said in the post you quoted, yes.

I also said it would be easy to modify a K or M lens to tell the camera automatically. (Except for f/1.2 lenses, if you want to be picky about it.) Newer lenses of course would work automatically.

An external poll surely could give more votes. However, in dedicated forums like this (USA/international) or in dfn (Germany) the opinion of the enthusiast real Pentax user base is imho collected in a more appropriate way. Any help, however, is appreciated .

While I would like to see a decrippled mount, I am not sure it makes sense economically. You have to add increased mechanical complexity which might not be justified.

That said, I don't quite understand how the crippled mount works and why it can't work better. Currently we have a situation, that when shooting with K or M lenses you get have 3 options:
1) M (and its variants B and X), and set everything manually
2) M and use the green button, which amounts to manual aperture, manual ISO, auto shutterspeed, that is, it works like Av with manual ISO
3) so-called "Av", which actually limits you to wide-open aperture, auto shutter, manual ISO.

Why can't the green button provide us with manual aperture, manual shutter, auto ISO (a TAv variant of #2)? Or even manual aperture, auto shutter, auto iso (a Av-autoISO variant of #2)?

In particular I would love to see TAv with M lenses: set your aperture (using the ring), set your shutterspeed, hit green button, camera sets ISO for you.

So, my vote goes to a better use of the crippled mount.

Clinton gave me a link to his closed poll, in which 89(/27/14) persons voted for an uncrippled K mount. I have decided not just to add these anonymous votes. So, I only appended the supporters, which stated likewise in the corresponding thread (#p---) and were not yet present in the list (060-064).

I have an old M50/1.7 and an old M135/2.5, and I would really like to be able to use them smoothly with the aperture ring instead of having to stop-down meter. Therefore, I add my vote to the list of people who would really appreciate a de-crippled K-mount. I noticed that I am already in the list in the form of a like, so I am unsure if I should be added again. Actually, what I liked was the initiative to make a list that summarized all of the opinions, making it easier for anyone wanting to see the results quickly to do so. Therefore, the like was not a vote for a de-crippled K-mount, however this post is. I meant to make the post where I added myself to the list earlier (right after liking the initiative of making a list), but something came up unexpectedly and I had to run. Maybe my vote should be changed to link to this post rather than the like.

As I already said in the post you quoted, yes.

I also said it would be easy to modify a K or M lens to tell the camera automatically. (Except for f/1.2 lenses, if you want to be picky about it.) Newer lenses of course would work automatically.
but to do this, you are into either drilling or painting the aperture coding onto the lens as well as needing to modify the camera software so that it does not need to "see" the A pin to know a lens is attached.

It becomes messy and if you go to that length, an input of max aperture is actually better because you are not limited to the aperture range of the mount.
