A printed version of this thread was given to the Pentax representatives at CP+.
The journalist of pentaxforums.com also included a brief paragraph about it and explained it verbally.
Unfortunately, they did not want to comment on it.
There was also no chance to chat with them after the interview.
So, communication still seems to be based on "transfer and pray".
Hopefully, they will take our feedback to heart.

I would LOVE that feature... tons of old glass in my collection. Let me use it how it was meant to!!! Add a tilt screen and it'd add a new dimension to my photography.

Oh, by all means, add me. The crippled mount is the only thing about the K5 I really, really don't like. Stop-down metering is something that just doesn't work for wildlife action shots.

I'm in - I would love to see a decrippled mount too. The reasons are:
1. There is some nice old K mount glass still around
2. I have missed shots with K mount lenses that I'm pretty sure I would have got if the mount was fully functional.
3. It so much more beginner friendly

That said I must admit I don't hold much hope for this one because:
1. 200 - 300 people will probably not be seen as a big number to Pentax
2. They can already say that any lens can be used with a Pentax DSLR - this feature does not look so big from a marketing perspective.
3. It does not help sell new glass.

Can someone please explain to me why we would burden future camera bodies with support for lenses that were discontinued in the previous century?

If stop down metering slows you down, then just remove the aperture leaver and shoot in AV mode. Works great.

Because its simple to add to the camera, Nikon still does it, why not Pentax? How would it be a burden?
