kkoether,

I'm very familiar with Madison as I worked down there about 8 years ago but wasn't aware they had boat races down there too. I definitely need to put that on the calandar for next year. I also wanted to hit the Gravelrama event down in Cleves this year (Aug 22-23rd I believe) but had to work that weekend too.

One from today

I saw this little booger today and had just enough time to jump out of the car and zoom in before traffic came. Taken with my newly acquired k20d and an 18-135 WR lens that I've yet to adjust for some backfocus so I autofocused then adjusted it slightly.

Great shots of your boy. I especially liked the second and third one down. I noticed you are from Mumbai, I'd love to see any city shots if you have any. I went to college and became friends with a woman from india and she would always bring in this awesome indian food she would cook that I still crave (that was 12 years ago).

Some very nice shots posted here so far. Here's one taken at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, CA. This is Air Force One Pavilion, where one of the retired jets is displayed. Taken with a K100D:

What are you looking at?

I took this yesterday with my k20d and new 18-135mm lens that came with my new k5. This is zoomed all the way and all I can say is friggin WOW...top quality considering I took it at 135mm. I LOVE this lens, but I wish I had something longer to shoot high school soccer/football pics. If anyone owns a tamron or sigma 70-300mm "budget" zoom are you happy with it?

Jeff,

Look for the Pentax DA-L 55-300 on ebay. It's cheaper than the DA 55-300. My wife got one for me last Christmas. I've been real happy with it. The difference is it has plastic mount, no quickshift focus clutch and no hood. I bought a generic hood thats just like the stock hood only it doesn't say Pentax on it for $5.00 with shipping.

K20D still got it

Took this weekend at a family gathering. It's a pic of my nephew the rapper. He goes by the name of the Real Rogers. Let me know what you think.

My sample will be K200D and DA 18-250mm at 30mm, f/8, +0.3EV, untouched.
I've chosen this for showing you shadow and highlight capabilities of the combo.

Chevyt, looks great to me. I'm no professional but I'd say its well exposed, very natural looking, evenly lit, and looks to be a good natural smile. Well done

The last pic from cbayton is interesting. I didnt realize the k200 did so well. I don't know if I have my settings wrong but thats one thing I have trouble with on my k20d, its like the dark areas are too dark and then I end up having to manipulate it in LR to lift the shadows a bit in a high contrast scene like this. I guarantee you if I took the same pic you wouldnt be able to make out anything in the middle of the hallway in the last pic like you can with his k200.

Older manual glass on K20d=Excellence

Took this awhile back using a manual pentax 50mm f1.7 which I sold and kicked myself ever since.

The 50 1.7 is a nice lens. I have one myself. It's a leftover from my ME Super. here's a shot off my K200D with the 50 1.7.

Hello, i got a black "dead-pixel arrow" vertical line on my K20D sensor, body 3 years old and no more garanty.
The pixel-mapping function is of no efficiency with that problem....
Would any of you have encountered this problem / have any feedback on the way to solve it ?
