I use the M85 for closeups. It's superb. Has other issues, but with CIF and stop-down metering (green button), it works really well.

The key is kind of knowing where the focus will lie and trying to slightly slow down at that point so you don't get focus shift during the exposure.

I more so only have issues with flare due to older coatings (even with a hood) or soft focus and shallow DoF when I'm shooting close to wide open.

Well with the manual lens you did well. Focusing has to be the hardest part. I need to try my manual lenses; they all work really well.

I have used the DA 12-24mm successfully too.






But the DA* 50-135mm has been my bread and butter lens


One that's getting more use is my Sigma 24-60mm F2.8

They work great. Here are a few shots with the K-7 and the Cosina 55/1.2. ISO 1600 f/1.2 - this was about as much as I would want to push the K-7:
