Normal vs. Live View in EXIF data?

(Sorry mods, I wasn't sure to which forum this question belonged)

Does anybody know if DSLR EXIF data includes any details about whether or not Live View was used to take a photograph? Or alternatively, does the DSLR record if phase detection or contrast detection was used to auto focus?

This page will print every EXIF tag found in a photo:
Check Shutter Count & Camera Manufacture Date Online - EXIF Reader

Give it a try with one photo from LV and one normal shot, and see if you can spot any differences! The AE metering segments field might differ between the two modes...

Thank you very much for the tool tip, Adam.

The EXIF data does not appear to include standard vs. live view mode settings, at least in this implementation of the meta data. I don't know if they update such standards from time to time, though I'd volunteer the idea that including live view status in EXIF data could be a helpful trouble shooting tool.

It will be in Maker Notes - Focus Mode (tag 0x000d). For example 'Contrast-detect' (32) for LV and 'AF-S' (16) for viewfinder focus.

You can view this with ExifTool - use ExifToolGUI if you can't cope with the ExifTool line command interface
