Moon-K5 vs K10

Took some shots of the moon two nights in a row and the K10 shots are better, mainly the K-5 fringes pretty bad while the K10 shots are clean around the edges.Think the K10 shots have a little better detail.Wasn't the best conditions as there was some haze both nights and none of the shots are great. All shots were in manual.

Was the same lens used on both? What lens is it? Were the settings the same?

I have the K200D (same sensor as K10D but different engine) and the K-5. My Moon shots are esentially the same with these two bodies when used with the same optics. However, optimum settings may differ a bit for the two bodies/sensors. I always shoot the Moon in M-mode and do some bracketing.

Some pictures with EXIF data might help.

I think it would be the a matter of the lens used, as I have no colour fringing on my moon photos taken with my K5.

Do not have the K-5 shots for comparison as they were so bad that all were junked.Tried tow different lens,a Fa 100-300 f4.7-5.6 and a Kimunor 500 mm f8 All were shot between f8-f16 as the moon was very bright. Will do another set tonight if the weather permits. The Camera is a Samsung gx 10 but I always think of it a a K10

The K-5 shot seems to gain a bit of fringing and blur; the blur is likely due to the fringing so it's really one problem. The K-5 can't like your lenses for some reason, perhaps a bit of focus calibration may help.

I dunno, I'd want to see examples of both from the same time and same phase. Dabbling in some astrophotography I can tell you even on a "clear" night the weather condition at that magnification can have huge changes within short periods of time. Also is there huge difference in indoor and outdoor temps in which letting the camera/lenses/scopes adjust to the ambient temps?

If you are going by the date in exif the date is wrong, photo's were taken as quick as I could change lens.In these the K-5 had much less fringing as the night before. It wasn't a good test as I frogot to stop down to f16 on the K-5 but these were taken at f8 while the K-10 photos were at f16.
