my Pentax shopping list

My christmas shopping list...

Well, I did order the DA 200 due to lack of a decent 80-200/2.8 solution in Pentax land - for a price that makes it easily sellable for little loss later on.

I was looking for a 1.4 or 2x converter for my DA 300, not available in Pentax land and Tamron did not really to the trick at the end.
I would love to see a 2/24 for APS-C appear in Pentax land as companion for the DA 55.
I would even buy a 2.8/300, but that should come with a 1.4/2x converter - not available in Pentax land. Even the FA 2.8/300 is no solution.
I would be happy to get rid of my K5 for a K5 IIs, but I am not sure if the camera is really better made than the K5 - I am not talking features, I am talking quality control.

I like the sizes and the features of the K5, I am happy with the small footprint of my other DA primes. I am keeping the FA31 in case a FF solution will show up one day.

There is no I in Pentax, but am I the only one that feels stuck - maybe I am just too late and should have joined Pentax during FA days...

The K5IIs is the only thing in the lineup that interests me at the moment and the Sigma 4.5/500 easily wins over all other tele solutions.

No, you are not alone. I have the lineup I want out of what is available right now. I, too, see the K-5IIs as interesting but am not willing to jump to it from the K-5 for a variety of reasons right now.

The one issue among Pentax gear that I CAN NOT figure out for the life of me is the teleconverter issue. They've been promising one for years. It's about the simplest item in the lineup and they don't have one. Just make one that does a great job optically that is compatible with all your lenses. Just do it.

Oh, and stop offering items that use feet from other items but are not available separately.

The DA AF RC 1.4x teleconverter has been re-scheduled for 2013 - as soon as the 560 mm is availbale in stores, we can expect the TC I would assume...
The 18-270 and the 560 will barely make it on time in 2012

I find the zoom range of 16-100ish frustrating. I don't want to carry two lenses (16-50 and 50-135) and while the 18-135 is nice, I'd like something faster. Supposedly it is coming too... but probably not until 20amillion.

I am all over the 1.4 TC when it comes out . . .
