Well, he did say "it took some great shots of the kids, the mailbox, the dogs." Therefore, either "it" is a camera or he's going to be in serious trouble with the post office for shooting up the mailbox.

The It is the It I have been awaiting delivery of. Its an item that has been travellling across the country for a week or so.

And while I used to work in the IT department of a college in Washington State, the It I was referring to wasn't IT.

You see, It is a pronoun of dubious meaning. The It could be a Clown named Pennywise. But It isn't. It could be something that Steve Jobs said would revolutionize the world. But It isn't that either. (Remember the Segway? And how it's super secret name was It?)

The It in this case is a K100D. I used to have a PZ something or other film camera and the lenses work just fine on the K100D.

And I am still curious how everything I read said it would take an SDHC, but obviously not.

It does take SDHC. You probably need a firmware upgrade though.

I have a K100d (not Super) and use a 4Gb SDHC Card after updating the firmware to 1.02, the update also allows anti-shake setup for focal length via a new menu option.

The irony is that if you only have SDHC card you can't upgrade firmware, cause where do you stick the firmware upgrade file ...

Thats a great point, I hadn't thought about that one. I guess you are hosed, unless you can find somebody that has an SD card laying around. However, as has been pointed out if it is the K100D, not the super, then upgrading to version 1.02 should work fine. I bought a 4G SDHC card when I got my K10D, the card came before the camera and I wanted to use it, so I upgraded my K110D and it worked fine, it should be the same upgrade for the K100D, although the super doesn't have any firmware updates yet, so it should just work out of the box.

Thanks for the info. I think I will buy a 1 gb to upgrade then use it as a back up. I mean, I have like 5 or 6 compact flash cards for my canon... from 32 mb to 1 gb. Helps out on vacations where the wife refuses to allow the laptop make the trip.

Actually, one can only ruin it if it is used in pro conditions, such as dropping it on the floor. <- a reference to a prior humorous thread.

Yeh, but I'm still surprised my comment about trouble for shooting the mailbox, without mentioning the kids or dogs in that same regard, went by without anyone commenting about it.
