Here is one i shot in 2003.

Start of eclipse: Photo by Photographer David Brooks - photo.net

SP500 and super tak 200 with 2x converter. I used the sunny 16 rule and opened up one stop to start with.

Its sunny and cool in Toronto right now. Might make a good night, but 10pm is pretty late for me.

I'll try

Dave

Wieland, thanks fpr the tip about manual exposure. I just tested it, and it looks perfect!

I don't think I'll be able to shoot the eclipse itself, it will be 6 to 7 am here, and in past days mornings were very cloudy. But i got out and took a pic of full moon, at least something to have from this unique night

Here it is - I had to make a 100% crop since the longes lens i have is only 210mm...

Well... Now I am officially out of moon-shooters for today. It's completely cloudy already, and the moon is not visible at all... Looking forward to see your photoes, since I will not have mine...

I just got back from shooting, it was awesome out, no clouds, some ambient light cuz I live in the city. My neck and back are killing me. I will check out what I have tomorrow and post it, I think I have some keepers.

anyone try this w/ a Tamron 70-300?

I was disappointed in the lack of sharpness from what I got. I shot at f/11 on a Bogen 3021 tripod and used the 2sec delay to cause mirror lockup. I don't get what I did wrong

Pics are cropped to roughly 800-900pix, then downsampled 2:1 and sharpened.

Kenyee ... did you use a remote or a delay on the shutter?

I shot my pics with the 2 seconds delay to give my camera time to stabilize after I hit the shutter, I probably whould have had even better results with the 10 seconds shutter delay.
