Kind of depends what exactly you want. A website to store your photos, a website to share some with your friends, a website to show as portfolio to clients.. Do you need it to be free, or are you ready to pay..
Flickr is popular (easy to share), as is 500px (can be integrated as portfolio)
And smugmug (has more sales options). And picasa (google account) and pinterest (social network oriented).
lol, here, after a google search:
List of photo sharing websites - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I did not know there were so many

Not exactly a photo sharing site. Photos have to be voted in...

minus.com is really good. I use it for general image uploading, but for sharing my "best" photos I use flickr.

I use photobucket, I need it for direct linking on another forum. But they have been working on the longest in progress upgrade of their software I've ever seen anywhere and the current version has been been foisted on everyone for beta-testing. If you use it, just select the old interface.

Yeah, that. First (and possibly last) time with new interface, it sorts files by title - such as A bird, Bird, Crested bird, Flying bird...Mine are all by yymmdd filename and organized into albums :-(

I link from there to here, as well.

I switched from Flickr to Picasa last year. Picasa has a 1GB free limit, however, if you upload through Google+ any photo under 2048 x 2048 does not count towards your limit. For me that means 'unlimited' free storage. While Google+ is pretty useless, I actually like the format of the galleries. If the person you are sharing with is not signed up for Google+ it takes them to your Picasa directory. Long story short, I heart Google.

I'm still trying to decide which I like best. New to this photo game but been uploading pics for a while. Always used imgur.com cause it is one of the few free ones that allows unlimited full resolution uploads. But now with my photos it looks like Flickr is my best option. One of the things I need is Lightroom integration so that pretty much leaves Flickr, 500px and Smugmug. Can't decide out of Flickr & 500px which I like better. Haven't tried Smugmug.... So best give it a go.

I've been using Flickr and 500px for ages. I prefer Flickr mostly because I'm familiar with it and I have no qualms putting up test shots or whatever for the sake of being able to share them. With 500px I'm a lot more fussy about he quality of what I post there. The vote-up system on 500px is kind of a joke in some ways as well, but I'm not sure that they could ever fix that.

I use Picasa as a good free option. Useful when using the Picasa PC software.

Smugmug is good for mixed commercial and personal.

Also, consider setting up your own website and use one of the many gallery software options.

I use flickr. A "pro" account is $2/month, which is nearly free.
