K10d Front Wheel ISO? M42 Glass

Hello Chaps!

Is there a way I can control the ISO with one of the control wheels in "M" mode when using M42 lenses?

Firstly I note there isn't a menu item concerning fsking with the "M" setting But I thought I'd check just in cases

Also, I can adjust it for SV and TV modes, but when using M42 lenses I get no control through the wheels Anyone found a way around it? or is this Pentax's way of telling me to fess up and buy some glass made in the last 20yrs AKA. some "A" glass maybe.

Baby steps. baby steps.

Many Thanks
Dan.

If you want that functionality then yes, you will have to buy some glass made in the last 30 years.

Depending on your firmware I think you can hold down OK and then use the front scroll wheel to change ISO regardless of what lens you have on in M mode.

And I thought I was being cheeky! I was looking at the tin foil thinking I'd have to short some terminals out.

I like reading changelogs before doing software updates, so it's just a little trick I picked up when I finally went from 1.00 to 1.31. It isn't documented in the manual because the feature was added in an update.

This page lists the other functions that were included with various firmware revisions: PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC. | PENTAX Firmware Update Software for K10D
