I voted

- "K-5" (my most used)
- "K10D" (I use this mostly to shoot timelapses)
- "earlier Pentax DSLR" (I still use my *ist D sometimes; smaller than K-5, has TTL metering sensor, nice shutter sound)
-"Canon FF" (I have 5D with SMC-A 50/1.4 lens, I love the output)
-"Other brands" (I have Samsung NX10 with couple of pancake primes which I use when I'm too lazy to carry DSLR)

I'm not sure If NX10 really qualifies as it is not "DSLR" but K-01 is there also so I voted that

How many I own - which is what the title asks, is not the same as how many I regularly use - which is what the poll asks. Which do you want?

Two K-x's & two Q's. I use both K-x bodies and one of the Q's. The other Q is put up for a backup. My wife has a K-x, K-100D, and two Q's. (one Q in use, like me.)

8 Pentaxes in one house.... Whooo-weee! :-)

I actually took a bit of a poll on the dpreview for a college class in 2005 and might *might* have the numbers still around somewhere. The group skewed very much 40 - 60 years old and male. Very much. It seems that things have broadened out a bit. Time itself has also made me less of a demographic outlier.

Pentax Digital - K-5

Nikon Digital FF - D700

Nikon Digital APS-C - D2X

Fuji Digital APS-C - X-Pro1

Film - Pentax 645N and Voigtlander Bessa R2

Too many mounts. Too much gear - I don't want (and cannot afford) a camera museum. Having issues seeing through tiny viewfinders, as well as using manual focus. So there's a battle royale currently raging to determine the final make-up of my kit.

Interesting that there are only 5 votes cast for the K-r. Considering there is a dedicated forum section for it, one would have to conclude many of the K-r owners on this forum either:

- Have not seen this thread yet (or have chosen not to participate)
- Do not use their K-r because of an issue of some sort or another (ie front focusing)

If the latter, that is too bad. I really like the camera and use it constantly.

Hey, we're getting close to 100 responses...so thanks to everyone who voted. I'm betting this gives us a reasonably good snapshot of those who follow the site everyday. It's kind of surprising how many cameras are 16 MP. Up until almost Christmas, I was shooting with a K20D (only because Tessfully hijacked my K-5) so I find it surprising that so many are still happily using older gear. It's also interesting that we have 12% own one of the versions of the K-5 II. There are 40,000 site users x .12, = 4,800 if we can translate all those numbers to all the site users. No effort was made to ensure this was a representative sample, and I'm sure those that answered are all the keeners...

Next time we can have more options.

It would be interesting to do the same thing for lenses, maybe next week. Making a list of lenses to be included however, would be much harder. I'm dying to find out how many own an A-400.... just kidding.

one of.... but a Q is a thought....
My daughter got the *istD when I got the K100D. She got the K100D when I bought the K-7 (and I got the *istD back). I'll keep the K-7 when I buy a K-5.

There are some stats on flickr also, the results are a bit different but the K-5 is still a strong #1 among the Pentax users: Flickr: Camera Finder: Pentax
