I just sold my K10D

After recently upgrading to the K5 IIs I have no use for my older K10D. I do have to admit though, I'm sad to see it go.

That camera and I have been through a lot together. It has been to Yellowstone, Vancouver BC, Rocky Mountain National Park, Michigan, and everywhere in between with me (and the wife). It's taken a lot of good photos for me, both casual and serious.

So, here is to in with the new and out with the old. If the K5 IIs captures half as many memories as well as the K10D did it will be worth it!

The K10D is still a great camera. I am very happy with mine.

I would not have done that personally. In low ISO situations it is just as capable as any other. The camera is what I consider to be a classic, really.

Lol guys, way to make him feel better. In all reality though technology changes fast. You didn't sell the memories you just sold a piece of outdated hardware...

In all honesty it was the high iso performance of the K10d that forced me to give it up. I know its still a great camera, but not being able to get a sharp picture using anything higher than iso 400 was driving me nuts!

I will miss it, but i think the K5 IIs will be better suited to me.

That will be my motivation as well when I do upgrade. I took some early morning shots this morning in dim lighting and they did not come out well, but there is still lots of room for improvement in my technique.

I've had a K5 for a year and a half. I still have my K10D also and the use is about equal between the two bodies.

My wife dropped her K10D last week and the autofocus has stopped working or works only a very little bit. I think she is very reluctant to replace it as she really loves it except for low light.

OP

An upgrade for both of you, win-win, you should feel good about it

I just did exactly that too, and can report the same outcome. The 10D CCD output is beautiful.
