Is that moire? Or just oversharpening artifacts? It doesn't seem to have false colour, just odd luminosity.

Here's the raw image, before sharpening, the pattern is still there.

I am very sorry - I don't mean to be contrary in any way, but I see nothing... it may be my monitor though... I'm literally leaning in to an inch or two from my monitor just to try to find it.

I guess it could possibly just a part of the tail feather that's in ver sharp focus, although the rest of the image is so soft...

It would be good for others to chime in, it may just be my monitor...

It's moire alright, interesting how the sharpening displaced it. Moire is of particular interest to me because it often shows up in the patterning on insect eyes on my stuff

There was a great shot posted earlier where moire was very visible on a building in a landscape shot. It definitaly creeps in from time to time!

I see it with my K5 IIs every now and then, no doubt. But not very often with what I have been shooting. I really don't see it being terribly bad in this shot.

No, but you can go to the front of the class and claim a sweetie.

This is shot with a k-5, and I really would't care, much, I got a hundred or so shots of these birds. I just found it interesting.

I doesn't seem to be moire to me, either. I don't see anything on the raw, and I agree with JinDesu. I looks like a sharpening issue.

Ya, Parallax but first you're going to have to convince me you're not just messing with my head here, like you always do.
