Just in: K10D - via Japan!

Aaaahhh... finally got waht Iwas after months ago. A 10MP solid Pentax performer! After three months of using the K100D, I feel uite at home with the setup. So no much need to delve into the manual, but happy shooting!

Here are a few good points:

- price in JapanGBP 527.00 (body only) [look at www.rakuten.jp - use the search box]
- manual and paper work all in Japanese (as expected, but dl'ed manual in Eng from website)
- really well built, this one says assembled in Phillipines
- my Transcend 150x 4 GB SD card performs really well (shooting RAW+JPG = 6 frames/sec, then about 1/sec till card full, 191 images)
- it has auto orientation :-), thought that was a CANON only thing - Great!
- and finally - all my lenses work!

Some critisism goes to:

- not being able to use AA's or CRV-3 any longer
- paying extra for the AC adapter (not the battery charger, thats included!)
- the optional grip doesn't take AA's either!

some more thoughts later... but ask away.

Happy so far - well spent half a grant!
>;-)

ordered it from the rakuten.jp website using a UK debit card, had it delivered to a friend who brought it with them to the UK. So zero cost delivery, apart from the 600Y in Japan ;-)

6 frames/sec? Is that the difference to the "rest of the world" - model?
