I'm not shooting RAW. I shoot straight jpg.
Try shooting in RAW, then use the Pentax Digital Camera Utility thing to extract a jpeg and then try the utility here.

Thanks!! I'll give that a shot. Hopefully in the next few days I'll have some time to try that.

You're welcome, and good luck!

And now another *istDL shot.

Hood off.

*istDL

I am unsure which lens I used, however I know it was a full manual lens and most likely one that I bought on this forum

I tried to catch the fog rolling in through the trees from the swamp behind the house.

Well tried that... and for some reason it still didn't work. Even tried 3 or 4 different utilities... *shrugs* Oh well, I'm just meant to enjoy what I have and not know.

In the mean time here's a shot of my daughters dog I took with the camera last summer.

Thanks for the followup.

Well bummer though. Is the firmware up to date?

Nice pooch. I'm thinkin' I gotta get another one of these days. I lament far too much on the pet a day thread about how much I miss my last pup.

I think some of the early *istDs simply do not provide shutter count.
I cannot get it from mine no matter what, regardless of software, firmware updates... etc.... nothing...
I estimate that one of my *istDs has 50 to 60 thousand actuations... would be nice to know for sure.
The filename count resets at 10,000, I remember this happening several times.

I finally got my own *ist D from a fellow forum member. There were a couple of reasons why I wanted it...

It's a classic - Pentax got it right from the start!
It's the start of the Pentax DSLR era - gotta know your roots!
It uses AA batteries!

Here is my first shot with it and my FA 50mm f/1.7 lens. Shot in RAW and processed in Aperture.
