Great camera

made LOTS of money with that thing - paid for itself about 50x's. LOVED being film free FINALLY! When I got it, we were still sad about the full-frame disaster of 2001, but Pentax came back with a wonderful machine. Mine, 10 years on, is still going strong. But compared to the K5, I'm sorry...NO comparison. Love my *ist D in every way, though. It's like my best friend.

This from my Pet Rescue calendar of 2006.

Cheers, everybody! Long live Pentax! And congrats on the 10th anniversary of that great, milestone DSLR, from the company that INVENTED them.

Sincerely,
Cameron

That was a nice surprise for me, on removing my *istD from the box after purchase, finding the golden brown highlights denoting Pentax's 50 years in Australia (to that time). With use, my shutter button eventually lost it's golden hue, and is now just chrome. Ah, ... the fond memories brought back by my *istD.
