Does the Samsung GX-1L count?

The clone of the *ist DL(2?) from Samsung. We all owe a debt of thanks to Samsung for their joint working with Pentax and helping them to get established in the dSLR market. Without them Pentax may very well have disappeared from the camera market for good.

This is the Polish bulk-carrier ZEMIA TARNOWSKA on the River Humber. Taken with GX-1L and a Sigma 50-500 (Bigma). My first outing with this lens in 1997 and i was mighty impressed.

Resurrecting an old thread - maybe we should rename it "*istD 13th anniversary"?
I still use mine quite a bit Actually, I have two: one for my Takumars, the other for my manual focus k-mounts.
M50/1.7

Super Tak 28/3.5

I often forget I have one, I get so wrapped up in the new stuff that I forget where I got my DSLR start. The *ist DL is a very capable camera.

Still using my *istD!

Well... not exactly like some of you, since I just bought it only 1 year ago. It's an amazing piece of engineering from another time. In the time of deep debate around K-1 AF against the competition, the future of DSLR against the flamboyant Sony A9 rising star and the very mysterious paths of the dynamic range and noise sensor it seems that the istD takes pictures, still, after all. No less. Lucky me!

Some pics.

I sold it a few years ago to a fellow Toyota enthusiast and coworker.

I hated to see it go, but it had sat for too long.

I see we’re up to the 15th anniversary of the *istD launch. I really must take mine out of the cabinet and shoot some more, especially as the lens collection available to it has more than doubled in the time since I last used it!
