istD (not ds) - no exposure info in vf with m42

Hey everyone,

I have been enjoying my istD since January, but yesterday I had occasion to use it in manual mode for the first time yesterday. I noticed there was no bar graph display on the right hand side of the viewfinder. Is that normal with the istD? My understanding is that I would get something, even if it was in error. I am using a screw mount lens.

Edit: I usually shoot in Av, which is why I haven't noticed before now.

I believe it's normal. If you use the DoF preview the bar/meter should come on.
