K-5 And Sdhc cards

I know if you have large hands you have a hard time getting the SD cards out of the camera
Now have any of you folks had their SD card when put in the camera they lock up and
you have to remove and insert it again, just asking : Thanks

I've never actually compared my hands to others, so I guess they're about average. But I have had this happen to my card(s) as well, although more often it's a result of pulling the card from an external card reader where the lock tab slides to the lock position. My solution: always turn on the camera before leaving on a shoot 1) to be sure the card is in Read/Write mode and 2) to be sure I have a card in the camera.

Never had it lock up with an SD card inserted. My hands are on the large side and I have never had a problem getting my SD cards into and out of my K-5.

I truly wonder why they have that slide, it's a weak point in the design and a feature i at least never used.
Do some of you use it?

I also have pretty big hands and have a bit of a struggle getting my cards out of my K5 as well.
I've often wondering why they don't so away with that lock as well. I have had a few cards break at the slide joint and I personally have never used it. If you're going to lock your card to protect the info on it you should be taking it out of your camera and storing it in a card holder anyway.

K-30 has a smaller slot than the K-5. just a friendly FYI, I have small hands and trying to get a card out was never a problem with the k5.

I fully compress the spring and sort of let it shoot out, you got a little bit more card to grip that way.

At least the spring action is not overdone on the K-5. My brother can shoot his cards out of his Samsung NX1000 and catch them in the air. It's almost a built in party trick! :P

I will ask him to film it, it's pretty cool "wild west" move to change cards by shooting the one in the camera into the air, grabbing it and put in a new one in the same action.
The bad is that you can accidentally shoot it somewhere and lose the card.

Sounds good to me, he'll have to practice, so all done in one smooth action to get the full effect.

It will also need to get that ricochet rifle sound they used to in the Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns, like in "A Fistful of Dollars" as the background sound track just to complete the show.

I know, I need to get out more.

Or buy a NX1000, because that sounds awesome!

Thanks for that tip. I just tried it and it works great. I was actually able to get the card to shoot right out of the camera a few times.
