Helios (from russian with love)

Hello dear fellow pentaxians.

Since i live in Europe, i must try out the soviet lenses and im wondering about the main differences about the Helios 44 and the Helios 77.
As the little info I found, the 44 is closer to CZ Bioplan and the other more to the Pentacon?

Also im interested which lenses of the russians that you think is good, but still dirt cheap

(I found the article about the 44-3, and i think i avoid those series)

Have a good weekend

There is a whole lens club for FSU stuff on this site:

The posts there pretty much cover the gamut of compatible FSU lenses.

Try the Helios 44-2

My version is the Ге́лиос 44-2, made in 1975 in the Valdai plant. An extra-ordinary lens, for the price, and not just for the bokeh; it produces lovely pastel-like colors on a sunny day. I paid a bit more off ebay for the 44-2, but found an equally good and better fitting 44M in Portabello Road, London for 10).

PS The lens I really want is the Helios 40-2 cyclop - the 85mm fixed at 1.5 - but that's outside my wallet-size
