K20D Poll

It is now over a week ago that the K20D slipped quietly into our lives, ahead of schedule.

Some have bought it.

Others (like me) sit and watch .

So what is the verdict from those that have parted with the 'hard earned' $$$$$.

Quietly!?

Like 40% of the early poll responders, I'm in the "Satisfied with reservations" category. I have one type of photo (low tungsten-style indoor light) that I've yet to be able to process properly (victim of the "hideous blue noise". And without correct ACR support, I can't make a fair comparison between the k10d and the k20d re: noise -- but it *seems* as if, somehow, the k10d is better at 1600 than the k20d at 800... and that can't be right.

So I, too, wait. But I remain assured that my issues will be addressed by software and/or firmware updates.

I fall under the "YES!!!! VERY satisfied" category. If they had improved AF performance then it would "Rock" :-)

I wanted to see the results, but it won't let me without voting. There isn't an option for I don't have one though.

ETA: NM, now that I posted a reply it will let me look, or did you change something? Anyway, I can see the results now. Looks like a lot of happy people.

Seems premature to have such a poll when users haven't had much of a chance to try it out yet. I just got mine yesterday but it will be months before I try it in most common situations. First impression is "super ISO" but I haven't left the house yet.

It is really too early for me to take part in this poll. I just picked up the K20D 3 hours ago...

I have already done a portrait shoot with it and it definitely rocks. I'll be shooting a couple pro models with it later this month and will post some shots.

Quite satisfied but I had not used the camera much. This is into the 3rd week of owning this camera.

I was able to see the results without voting -- as I don't have one either.

I'm satisfied with the K20D, though I have been experiencing some odd underexposure issues when spot metering dark objects and using any of my Pentax P-TTL hot shoe flashes. I suspect it might be an issue with my particular K20D since I can't find any other K20D owner experiencing the same issue so far.

I thought I had set it up whereas you could see who was voting for what....thus to keep a bit of integrity in the results...but it wont let me see who has voted, and as I don't own a K20D, I can't vote.

If anyone who has voted wouldn't mind checking that function, as it may be only available to those who vote. (click on the number of votes in the 'view results' page).
Thanks.

first weekend w/ the camera, I had to shoot in very dimly lit areas. I had both bodies with me, and from teh 600 or so shots i took w/ the k20, and about 200 w/ the k10, both in the same place, the k20 rocks in a lot of areas. I was rather amazed at the images it produced.

I was not at all afraid to use 1600, or even 3200, albeit, at 3200 there was noice, but, w/ a little creativity, it can still be used.

Im am very happy w/ the 20. so happy, that I might get a 2nd one, and sell off the 10.
