K10 vs K30

Hi all, I have been using my K10 since its introduction and really love it. My dilemma is that the pop up flash no longer works, so I was looking at the K30. It seems that the 30 lacks a few features that my 10 has, like the top LCD, the AF button and AE lock. I do have a Metz flash so thats really not a big issue. Is it worth it to go to the K30 or stick with my K10?
Thanks

k-5 might be more in line with the k10D feature set. Either k-30 or k-5 will be a noticeable step up in image quality. K-5 right now is a pretty good bargain, and a used one might be cheaper than a new k-30, just a thought.

That is what I did, I got an excellent used k-5 for a great price, and I love it. There are a lot of nice used k-5's out there right now as people are upgrading to k-5iis and full frames.

Thanks, but checking the prices of a used k5, Im seeing prices of $700 and more on Amazon. I could get a new k30 for less than that. Doesn't make sense to me.

Yes, it's worth it. Some people really like the top LCD but many people have stated they don't miss it at all. There is an AE/AF button that you can program the behavior for. It's not the same as two separate buttons but if you use it the same way each time, you can set it up to do what you want.

you should be checking the forum for sale section for used prices, I sold mine several months ago for around 600...used stuff on Amazon its going to be priced like new, not reasonably. either camera will be great and a huge leap from the k10d. but as has been said the k5 will have the control and features you are used to.

From using K-20D for few years to recently upgraded to K30, I do not find myself missing the top LCD at all.

The same info you get on the top LCD is available on the rear LCD of the K30, larger and easier to see, also available in your choice of colors! Of course, you still have the viewfinder info as well.
