K5 white balance?

I'm trying to use a piece of welding glass (shade 10) as an ND filter, however it has a very green tint to it, and every time I try to adjust my custom WB mode, it doesn't seem to correct the colour. And when I go into the menu WB>WB manual > WB Manual 3 > Manual WB (where it gives you the option that says SHUTTER ADJUST) and I compose a shot to I get an error The operation could not be completed correctly. Anyone know what is going on here or how to fix it? I've had no problem setting custom white balance in the past... Please help as this is time sensitive. Thanks in advance!

No I don't which does not help. All I can add is that trying the same thing with various colours on gels that ome times it works and some times not. I have the impression it depends on how mich light actually gets through which is why ,I suspect, your dark welding. Glass won't work.
