Pentax Camera Line-up

I take it that the Pentax K-5ii/iis is still the top of the line Pentax offerings at this time and that the newly announced K-500/K-50 are the low end body?

also any news on when a FF or more advance Pentax Bidy (one with more robust fps for sports etc) may be coming out

Yes, the K-5 ii/s are still the current advanced DSLRs. They are certainly due for an upgrade, though, and it's not unlikely that we'll see that upgrade later this year. The K-500 is the new entry-level DSLR, while the K-50 is the new upper entry-level/mid-range DSLR.

As for FF, there are thousands of posts on the topic, so I suggest you head over to our full-frame forum and see what's been said and posted.

While it lasts the Pentax lineup has some consistency to the model names!

K-5 > K-50 > K-500

We've had that once before but it didn't last long:

K20D > K200D > K2000

So an expectation of a K-5 replacement is justified if for no other reason than to ruin the naming pattern again!

I am thinking K5III and IIIs, but that the new number system will go to the FF... but that could just be wishful thinking.
