k30 or new lens

Hi!

I have one doubt about getting K30 or a new lens, 100 macro WR.
Now i have K200d and limited lenses: 15mm, 35mm macro and 70mm.
I love to shoot macro photos, but I think my K200d is getting too old, and I would like to hear what you guys think.
Any advice is welcome.

Igor

I't was just an expression. I't not old, it's working like charm, but some stuff on K30 is great, like 100 % viewfinder coverage, 921.000 screendots, 16MP sensor, and for me most important thing better quality photos at high ISO. So i don't know yet... I would like to buy it, but I wanted to ask here for your opinions. Is K30 so much better than K200d?

what are the limitations you find on the K200? And what are the limitations with your lens line up?

You need to make the choice. I currently have a K-5 and K-01 and had a K200D. The 16m sensor in the K30 and K5 is significantly better in overall IQ, especially dynamic range and high ISO. The 100 macro is an awesome lens and is a great addition to the fine lenses you already have. So it depends on your priorities. If it was me I would get both and eat Kraft Dinner for a couple months. No matter what you chose, you are likely to enjoy either.

In this case, the big jump in quality for the K-30 will be high ISO. The big jump with the 100 will be macro. Make your choice and take some pictures!

The K-30 is a super bargain now, and the 100 is regular price. I'd go for the body since you already have many nice lenses.

Replace the 100WR with a Tamron 90 macro (you can probably find one second hand, and get both. You can get the 100 later if you still want it. you can probably get a used Tamorn 90 / K-30 combination for about the price of a 100 WR,

I see.. It is a tough choice. New lens or camera will give you new possibilites so, which one do you think you need the most? Do you need to print bigger, less noise? Or to be more comfortable when working macro, isolate the subject better?
Perhaps you could sell the DA70 once you get the 100mm...

i was looking for second hand lens (tamron 90 or 100wr) but nothing. and at the moment there isn't a single second hand k30. i'm from Croatia and here to find something second hand from pentax is like hitting a jackpot everyone is on canon/nikon.

i would like to have everything you've counted above i think i need better iso of all those things above. Because i like to photo bugs and high iso would give me faster shutterspeed or higher aperture if i want something to be sharper. 35mm is pretty good for now and i can get macro lens with time.

I dunno, if you are happy with your K200D, you should stick with it. See what Pentax announces after the K-50, maybe that upgrade will be a bigger leap, more worth it
You can also get a cheap K-01 as an in-between. Not really a DSLR, not very fast, but modern IQ and noise performance, focus peaking, very long battery life, decent video capabilities, works with all Kmount lenses. Some people love it for macro work. If you can find it on sale, it will cost half as much as that 100mm.

I'm too from Croatia.)
Buy a second hand k5-the price is really good now. Maybe you will have enough money left to buy Tamron 90 2.8. It's a great lens.
In Slovenia there is a store "mimovrste" and they are much cheaper then our dealers.
