The red central focus confirmation light has suddenly become dim on my K10D. The others are filled red squares and look just fine. However, the central one is seen with difficulty now, all of a sudden. Now it is a poorly visible empty square (only the borders can be discerned, the very center is transparent). The beep is still heard.
Any ideas?

The central indicator is an empty box with red border, the others are smaller, filled red boxes. For any digital Pentax.

Well, thanks; I must have forgotten that.
Still, the square looks very dim...

Also, be aware that the red indicator is NOT a focus confirmation light. That's the green hexagon down on the info panel at the bottom of the viewfinder. The red box will light to show you where the camera is focusing, not that it thinks you're in focus.
