any reason to take the k100d super over the k200d?

hi all

i used to have a pentax k100d (it got stolen), and now have an insurance claim, and i presume they will let me choose between k100d super or k200d
obviously i know the differences between the two

but just want to know if the negatives of the k200d are less ssignificant than the positives of the k100d
i guess noise is the only factor, i probably prefer the 6mp file sizes (but that's not a big deal)
is there a good gain in having iso 100? i didn't ever shoot at iso 3200, and very rarely at 1600 (i have the af540 so would use that wherever possible)
i'm probably missing some other stuff

just looking at the specs, and it seems stupid not to go for the k200d if i get the choice, is that right? does anyone know if the k200d can control external flashes?

come to think of it, what about the k10d? if that was an option, would it be the better option than the k200d?
the increased buffer would be good (not that i'd use it that much), but bigger viewfinder, me mode, extra dials, although it is larger, and i did really like how the k100d felt (probably a good idea to check out the feel before the final decision)

dave

don't forget the weather seals, vertical grip, bigger screen, DNG raw files, and continued firmware support from pentax for the 200..

oh, and wireless flash support on the k200d with onboard flash

.

K10D + FA 50mm f/1.4 == $730 approx.
K200D body only == $720 @ B&H

price isn't a concern i think (as much as they are similarly priced, obviously i don't think i can get a k20d), as this will be an insurance claim
so k200d definitely over k100d super
k10d > k200d?

thanks

i'd say k10d is marginally better than the k200d, because of the better UI. but the k200d is more in line with the 100 you're used to. are you looking for a "better" camera, or the direct replacement of the 100, would be the big question

hard to say
the k200d supposedly has tweaked software to improve on the k10d's iq and is more up to date
the k10d has more dials/features, but is a bit bigger

of course i want the better camera, but not at the expense of ergonomics
as long as the k10d is the better camera, i have the option to get it, and doesn't feel uncomfortable in my hands, that is the one to go for i'm thinking

if noise is a key factor, stick w/ the K100D
however if you like the extra res, weather seals and don't mind the larger size, then the K200D is the way to go. khadur here had an excellent discussion about his K200D

I'd choose the K200d in a heartbeat. Hands down. No question.

The familiar scene & picture modes, 10MP resolution, better IQ, weather & dust resistance, improved IS, more features. WTH man?

insurance?

What kind of insurance would let you choose, assuming a K100d could still be found? I assume you would only get a settlement for the lowest cost alternative - and that assumes you have replacement value coverage.

well, the assessor will be checking out our stuff next week, so i'll ask him
i just hope they don't try to gip me on lenses, i got the dfa100 and da21 from america much cheaper than locally, so i just gotta make sure i let them know that
and that i'm not taking alternatives for my lenses, and especially not for those two
