Nope, nobody has tried to hack recent Pentax cameras.
Canon is probably not banning it because its actually good for them - its an advantage over Nikon, but its not really their responsibility. If someone bricks their camera by hacking, Canon doesnt have to replace it in warranty. And that person will probably just go and buy another Canon. So having an active hacker community is actually a good thing for a camera brand. Except when it makes a cheap model competitive with expensive models

Just to be clear, there is no public hack for recent Pentax cameras, right?

Canon could easily prevent Magic Lantern hacks on the next generation of hardware if they wanted to, but so far they're remaining silent on the issue. Not sure what is up with the 70D.
Like i said someone has installed K20D firmware on the K10D couple of years ago, will see if i can find the topic.

As for trully hacking, non really.

once upon a time I modified the software to similar satellite receiver Topfield, it could be very easy using ID exchanger TFD_ID Changer, but it is illegal hacker enable strong support that allowed enrollment and keys to illegally watch scrambled channels, which in turn facilitated the sale Topfield hour. receiver, so it would be easy to replace and software from K30 to K50 if you will be required ID changer, because the hardware is not much different, it would be nice to have the Possibility of changing software, but everything is up to the interests of "illegal hacker" on the ability to increase sales of the camera body through legal dealers
