I've posted two pictures, showing what I mean by a blue cast to the photograph:

One of them was shot using the 18-55mm Pentax kit lens on a K-30. The other was shot with the same camera, but this time with a Pentax SMC M 50mm f2 prime at wide-open:

Both pictures were taken at approximately the same time (about one minute apart from each other) about 45 minutes before sudown. There is no direct sunlight is where I am standing (the subject and I are both in the evening shade). Neither photo has been post-processed in any way (not even cropped), and are the exact JPEGs as processed in-camera.
EDIT: OK so I seem to have linked to thumbnails. But the difference between the two is still clear.
