is it worth upgrading firmwares ? I don't know which version I have how do I find out ?

You can find out which version you have by holding down the Menu button while turning on the camera. As for upgrading, but really depends on what the upgrade offers. On the K10 v1.3 mostly just offered support for SDM lenses, but also broke the hidden menu for adjusting FF/BF. Some updates have bug fixes. For a K10 I would recommend at least v1.2, but only get 1.3 if you have or are getting one of the SDM lenses.

I'm not a K10D user but if memmory serves me right the v1.0 firmware doesn't support wireles P-TTL flash. I'd say upgrade.

Yes, upgrade to 1.1 or 1.2, in my opinion.

yep I'm just giving the battery a quike refresh charge the new 1.2 firmware is on the card and soon it will be upgraded

learn how to switch the iso real easy, run some flashes wirelessly, use remote assistant, and also learn how to use the firmware to change rolls real fast!

just kidding.

Most recent K10D firmware is 1.3, why update just to 1.2? I cannot see any reason not upgrade directly to 1.3....

If you have no SDM lenses, and you want to be able to tweak the AF in debug mode.

general question .. I've never upgraded, bought the k10 last oct, so I need to upgrade .. if I upgrade to the latest version, do all older versions automatically come with the latest one? Or, does each version need to be upgraded independently?

My understanding is that the debug menu was only available in version 1.1.

You can upgrade to version 1.3 directly. All previous firmware upgrades are included in it.
