Dyed-in-the-wool Pentaxian. With a 35-body/lens collection spanning the original 1957 AP via 1964 Spotty and 1975 K2 to 2010 K-5, and having actively used Pentaxes for almost 40 years, you'd have to prise my Pentax from my cold, dead fingers. A former colleague of mine in the 1980s had the surname Richardson, or Ricko, as we called him. So 'Ricko' makes me chuckle. (Unless it's pronounced 'R-eye-coh', like the transatlantic 'N-eye-k*n').

Black tape over the logo, just as on my current K-5.

I like that Ricohnian name........ has that "Star-Trek" feeling..... to boldly go where nobody has gone before. Pentax brains has made what we have now. Those same brains will keep that innovative momentum no matter what they are called.

Just my 2 cents

Whogivesashitian sounds pretty good to me.
Good and affordable bodies and lenses, that's what I care about.

Well, the answer is pretty simple: "Photographer"!

I'll go for "amateur photographer" (and not even necessarily a skilled one) since I shoot purely for fun.

Interesting to see how some here identify strongly with the label, while others purely see the tool.

But what would being a "Pentaxian" entail? Is it a state of mind, a sense of belonging? We all (or close enough) own cameras and lenses of other brands, so I would think that is not part of it.

t's improbable that Ricoh will maintain two different brands for digital camera's.
I believe, to the contrary, Ricoh will maintain both brands and exploit their different histories and brand identities.

Ron: You didn't offer the choice Pentaxian (which I state in mixed company - by mixed I mean in the company of any other photographer who is in possession of a camera, because the other camera is never a Pentax), which word is often met by a blank stare or a reference to a K1000..
