So just taking a jump in time........

Full Frame K-mount camera is in your bag!

Ricoh is printed in gold on top of it!

Or anything other?

On the bottom of my FF it will read "Mythical Pentax Full Frame, brought to you by Ricoh".

If the camera is obviously from the Ricoh brain trust and is different from being a Pentax, then Ricoh on the faceplate is fine with me.

If the camera is *clearly* a Pentax and shows the lineage as such, I will get an old Pentax and machine away what needs to be machined away from the Pentaprism shell and mount it over Ricoh.
Maybe make something that has Pentax on it, and cover over the Ricoh name.
Maybe just put electrical tape over Ricoh.

When people ask me what camera I use, I will say Pentax. If they ask more, I will tell them the whole story.

I will be a Pentaxian until I die.

I think I would prefer "photographer".

But I doubt Ricoh is interested in changing the brand on K-mount DSLR.

My name is Rick. The fact that I carry a Pentax is not a part of my identity. Full frame only really matters with ultra wide lenses and I can afford the occasional roll of film.

My Samyang 14 has been rocking for me recently.

It's a label. A label with a history, certainly, but to me the product is more important than the label.

If Pentax stops making great imaging tools in a small package I'm outta here. If said tools are continued under a different label that's no big deal.

Would prefer for things to stay as they are, but Pentax is not part of who I am. Well, other than the fact that it's always nice to be a bit different

It's improbable that Ricoh will maintain two different brands for digital camera's.
A logical step would be to rebrand all the digital camera's as Pentax (Pentax GR, GXR), and not as Ricoh (Ricoh K5-II), to make a distinction between their consumer products and industrial products.
So, I vote for 'Pentaxian'.

Hm but it makes sense to keep Pentax on DSLRs. Pentax is known since the SLR days and has a following already.
Ricoh has its GR cameras, but its mostly know for street photography, not really for top notch DSLRs and medium format cameras. Its a different market, makes sense to keep the brand names that already enjoy some recognition

I'm with you, if not a Pentaxian, then a Ricoh Suave, it is.

I will continue to not call myself by any brand name but use "photographer who happens to have liked Pentax DSLRs for quite some time and probably will for a while longer until something better comes along" or PWHTHLPDFQSTAPWFAWLUSBCA for short.
