Well, that won't happen since the camera is officially "hers" now (I still get to play with it now & then)

Really like my K100D, it may not have the most pixels or the widest ISO range or live view but it can still take some good shots.

K100D used as a infrared camera. Hoya IR filter Pentax A 50/1,7 or Rikenon 50/2 (don’t remember exactly – both are fine for IR photos) at f8 and 1 sec.

Another lens which is fine and works OK on K100d is the original pancake (SMC-Pentax M 40/2,8). K100D is a small for a DSLR and with this one is just barely bigger then some mirrorless offerings. This is also good for IR.

Thank you, Jean! K100D works good for IR even without conversion. I using made also some photos without or even monopod, but this is really tricky.

Hi, Jean,

Yes I use Hoya IR filter (this one seems to be the best, I made quite a research before purchase). Lenses that I tested and are OK for IR are: SMC Pentax A - 50/1,7, SMC - Pentax M - 50/1,7, SMC - Pentax M - 40/2,8 and Rikenon 50/2 (this seems to have best contrast which is important for IR with K100D - you can expect quite high noise if you make strong image edition).

OK ... et merci. An IR filter has been on my "short list" for a while. Maybe I should push it up to the top of that list ... J

I really like the effect of the IR filter. I may have to try my hand at this as i have exactly the same camera and lens you used (less filter). Thanks for giving me the idea.
