Not the best example but I wanted to contribute something recent. This was with the humble Industar 50-2 at ISO1600. Asked the yogurt shop girl to make a face.

The thwackomatic has become my go to camera when I want to use my M42 lenses because I don't like hassling with adapters on my k-5.
Nice gear combo ... and better capture ! Keep on thwacking there ... J

I still have my K100D from 2006 which has been superseded by the K10D which was sold to a friend, the K20D and the K5 which I still have and I can't bear to part with it. The shutter/mirror is noisy compared to the K5 and the lack of a front e-dial is a bother. It has never tolerated the low voltage of rechargables and runs fine on AA lithiums. It did run the autofocus on my 16-50 when the SDM was not working. The camera has little monetary value but there is something I like about it that defies logic. Unless you pixel peep a lot, 6 megapixels is fine, if you do then get a D800E.

There's been a lot of love for the wonderful K100D in recent posts around the forum, but this thread has dropped way down to page 2 so I'm bumping with some photos. Just because I want to see more of what other people have done with this modern classic camera.

Beautiful shots, Dave! Here's a seasonal scene taken exactly one year ago with the kit lens:

That's a nice shot that really shows how good the kit lens can be in skilled hands. And I guess it's true about everything being bigger in Texas: those pumpkins are HUGE!

As I passively watch the turmoil over the coming K-3! The threads going back and forth over whether it will be great or doom the whole line. I sit here content with my little K100 feeling at peace. I let the ruckus pass me by, I have all I need!!!

I've been using a K100d Super for about 4 years. It got me back in to photography after I more or less gave up becuase film became so expensive. Fortunately I kept all my old Pentax FF lenses. I'm sometimes tempted to upgrade but really only because 6mp doesn't give much leeway for cropping.

This was taken a couple years ago, using a K100D & a hoodless M50/1.7, wide-open on a very bright & sunny day. A bit of pp was also needed (xposted)
