Camera back from Pentax

I received my K10d back from Pentax that I sent in with a back focusing issue.

I'm happy to say that its focusing fine now. Fast and accurate. I did the chart test again and it tested accurate. They also fixed my pop-up flash that has not been working since the first month i had it. So, overall I would say I'm happy with the results. The turn around was very fast also. I just wish they could've been a little more informative on what they were going to do with the camera. I like to know what I'm paying for.

Just a side note, the camera that had the issue was manufactured in Oct 2006, my other k10d focuses fine and its manufactured date is Sep. 2007

I took this shot of a finch? with my Sigma lens wide open F2.8, iso 400, 200mm and I added some fill flash from the pop-up because it was getting dark out. Cropped in a little and re-sized in cs3

So what did they do to ur camera?

I don't own a k10d, from what I've read, the service menu allows u to recalibrate the AF yourself...

That service menu only shows up if you have old firmware (1.1 if I'm not mistaken). New firmware doesn't allow access to that menu.

I just sent mine in for focusing issues as well. I was also having the camera switch to CCD cleaning mode in the middle of me shooting (I would be focusing a shot, then suddenly - click - up goes the mirror). Happened a good 5-6 times at odd intervals.

I was somewhat dismayed to see they don't even acknowledge receipt so I paid for delivery confirmation so at least I know it got there OK. Today (3 days after receipt) I emailed them to ask them if they will at least tell me how it will be shipped and if FedEx/UPS, if a tracking number can be provided.

My K10d is my primary camera and as things would have it, the day after I shipped it, I got a call about a shoot around the 19-20th of April... :ugh:

I just sent my K10D for repair last week and it is back this morning. The AE-L button was going "on" and "off" by itself for no reason. Just holding the camera near the button would cause it to act up.
