It is *very* good, and high contrast. Definitely worth the money imho. However it is not a 77ltd.

I would be as happy as a pig in slop if I could get down to the point where I only owed $200. I have had to pay federal and state for the last 2 years, after almost 40 years of getting refunds (albeit normally a small refund). I am a retired civil servant and work full time as a consultant, so while the income is really good, the amount of additional taxes are killing me.
I am a consultant also, although I work under Canadian tax rules. I worked for a few years in Chicago, and my income was about 1/3 taxes, 1/3 expenses (maintaining a second residence, etc) and 1/3 for why I was down there. I did not get rich, but have no debts.

one or two of my recent US-made girlfriends were pretty desirable, but the current one is made in Hong Kong and trumps the previous ones...

thats a great shot!

how would you compare the image quality of your M50 1.4 to M50 1.7...

i'm on a lookout for a 1.7 these days...
I think the image quality is about the same, especially for my needs. I like the 1.4 for the extra 2/3 stop. Plus, it might just be that I got a good copy of the 1.4, as the 1.7 is generally regarded as being the sharper lens.

On the subject of the M50/1.4, I just picked up one on Fleabay tonight for $63.50, including shipping. I got mainly to use on the K1000, but it may also be spending some time on the K10.
Twinda, that is a beautiful shot.

Heather
You'll love it! All the M lenses are plenty nice, especially for the price.

Do you uses the orginal focusing screen? I saw a thread where a lot of folks using manual focus lenses were getting Katz eyes... seemed expensive.
I do get tired of manual focusing; I do wish I had an SDM lens once in a while. I'm thinking of the DA55 for my tax rebate -- when and if the lens ever arrives. However, if you have to manual focus, the feel of the Pentax lenses are very very nice.

I have the Katz Eye, expensive, but definitely worth it if you focus manually. I do wish it was a diagonal split though!

Yep, the Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4. I got mine on eekbay. Also check out the lens database on this forum -- it's a great resource.

Ok.. so with the supposed tax refund checks coming from Mr Bush is anyone thinking of their LBA? I think I would buy my BG2 grip for the K10D, a 50 mm f1.4 manual focus, and the tamron 70-300mm DI that several people seem to love on the forum. i don't think that's a bad way to spend a free $600.

Dream big those with extra tax write offs, i think they call them children!! LOL

I would put it towards the Sigma 70-200 2.8! Duh!

An American Fender Stratocaster. Way better and desirable (and expensive) than the ones made by our neighbors to the south.

no, but the irony of your question is that she is a visual artist, and her main medium for sculpture work is plastics.
