So what now ? K5 or K5II or wait ?

It's time to upgrade!!!

The new K-3 is not in my budget (1300€ body only here) or I would be but I still need to get a good lens!

Have 1500€ to spend for a body + lens(one or more). Shopping in the EU (online Germany, NL....)

Options:
K-5 + Tamron 17-50 + Tamron 70-200 (for me the best combo) under 1500€
K-5II + Tamron 17-50 + ? (the K5II with the Tamron 70-200 is over 1600€)

Or what setup/combo would be good ?

Tamron? Why Tamron? Just check around for Sigma 17-50mm 2.8

The K3 and look around for some older lenses (manual or AF) , cheap and wonderful asset, just to throw it out there. You camera would be the bee knees with old or new lens and you would not be wondering about how the K3 out performs the K5ii, no need to upgrade as quick on the next life cycle.

The Sigma is not in the same price range than the Tamron, it's double the price of the Tamron! Thats why!

@gmans, I would be happy with the K5/K5II no need to go for the top/new flagship!

Fair enough, was just putting an alternative out there. Good luck with your new camera.

If the K3 was cheaper (1300€ body) I would not even look at the K5/K5II.
We will see in november/december how the price goes. Can wait it's better to have the new model than the old one, but the K5/K5II are now going to explode in used markets

Yeah, you might get a good deal on a used K5/II soon. For lenses, you could also look at the Sigma 17-70; it's not a constant aperture, but a good all around range and generally good quality. Also keep an eye out for a used DA-L 55-300, they go for under $200 USD usually, and it's a great zoom option on the cheap.

Either K5 or K5 II. I do find the K5 II more accurate in two settings. One is in really low light setting. The second is that it has a lot more consistent focus with wide aperture lenses like my DA *55 and FA 77. If those situations don't apply to you, then a K5 would be an excellent option.

K-5 + Tamron 17-50

The K-5 has had more AF issues than any other Pentax body, and the Tamron 17-50 has more AF issues on any body, from any manufacturer, than any lens I've ever heard of. Good luck with that combo.

Get a K-5 II. The K-3 should push the price down some more.
