I have a bad feeling

Looking around The Marketplace and eBay, I have a bad feeling I won't be able to sell my K20D.

Is anyone having luck?

Why sell it? It would make a good second body, I see no point trying to sell a 5 year old (or even 2-3 year old) DSLR because it has beeni devalued so much with subsequent releases.

Note that the K20 has been upgraded 4 times now with release of the K3. So you give up a ton of new upgrades, notably Sensors , metering AF performance , sound ( or the lack of because the K10 and K20'were loud)

The step K20-K5 had a big improvement in high ISO noise for example.

So, keep it as a second body, it is still a good camera just no way to sell it for more than about 15% of what you paid, sprry

Nonsense! You can sell anything if the price is right.

I find it's really helpful to look at "completed listings" on eBay. Just do a search, click "Advanced," and check "Completed Listings" in the second section. Anything that didn't sell will show as red; anything that sold is green. Like this:

Sorry if you knew that already.

It's a tough market given the fact that newer (and superior) cameras are selling for very low prices these days.

Still, I'm sure it will sell, especially on PF!

Yeah, it will sell. I am hoping my lenses will hold their value and sell easier.
I am switching to Canon.
My wife's main client is Canon. I can't bring my Pentax equipment to her work activities. This includes site inspections and reward trips I get to go on b/c of Canon.

I will put everything in the Marketplace soon.

Pentax 17-80 f4
Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM
Old school Vivitar Series 1 105 f2.5 macro
Tamron 1.8x tele converter with contacts one manual
Promaster flash
Pentax grip extra battery

Thanks

You might do better to sell it on Craigslist. I've sold 3 cameras on CL that sold pretty quick. Just don't get scammed & only accept cash. Plus you won't have to deal with eBay & PayPal fees on Craigslist.

Better yet, keep your Pentax gear and buy a Canon G or S series PowerShot to take when you go on a junket. They are really quite nice cameras. You might even be able to finagle a discount price via your spouse!

A K20D will do that? I might have to get mine back from my sister.

Not sure exactly which ones,
but apparently several of the pre-K7 models will work.

K10D firmware 1.20 and earlier* and other models that support screw drive only.

Steve

*Later firmware versions include SDM support and default to SDM if it is present on the lens.

I'd also keep the Pentax gear and just get a S or G series Canon. Those are great cameras. Or just tape over the Pentax. There's nothing in the world that could make me use Canon DSLRs. The day I have to use those cameras is the day I'll stop taking photos. The small ones feel too cheap and lack everything, the good ones are so heavy I wouldn't bring it with me, ever.

See this post of mine for my ideas along this line:

I will get the K3 eventually but like the K20 for lots of reasons.

I sold my K20D a few months ago. I had to drop the price a few times, but it sold after only a few weeks on the market place.
