K20D + SMC M 50mm 1.4

So I started off with Pentax back in 2005ish with a *istDL and then acquired several camera bodies and lenses since then. I had a nice collection at the time, a K10, a K20 and a bunch of lenses and flashes.

I ended up selling everything and getting a Nikon D700, and eventually built myself a nice Nikon system which I still use. Even though I loved/love the Nikon platform, I always missed the K20 and a few months ago, a friend of mine was selling his so I ended up getting a REALLY good deal on a barely used Pentax K20 as a camera pretty much specifically to use to submit photos to the PPG.(which really gave me incentive back in the day to continue to take photos).

Anyway, for the past few months I have been using a K20 along with a SMC M 50mm 1.4 lens which I got from someone on this very forum! I specifically have not bought any new lenses as I wanted to test myself with JUST that set up....

Since probably this past June, I have submitted 20 photos to the PPG and got 16 of them approved.

The short of the story is... I LOVE the K20 and am a very very very happy camper..I hope Pentax continues to make great cameras.. Truly some of the best you can buy for the money.

Great shots with a great set up. I love my K20 D also. You have a great eye.

It's just pretty amazing in general how I really enjoy using the K20.. and that legacy glass... such quality

Even though I shoot Nikon as well.. I really do have a soft spot for Pentax

I've also shot Nikon and Canon but the Pentax cameras are just a better fit for me. Plus I'm also big in the legacy glass.

I think the m50 f/1.4 is a pretty under-rated lens especially when stopped just a bit. It seems to get better as you throw greater resolution challenges its way - even all the way up to a Q.
