Leadbelly, that's such an odd combination of casinos and camera lenses.... i can't picture what you're actually telling me. This is what i am thinking: So some people lose money at the casino and want to sell their camera equipment because they are really addicted to gambling? So i should go to the casino and wait for broke people to sell their camera gear to me.

nice collection figmental! i like it.

I bought a Japan Rail Pass here in Toronto for $600 valid for 21 days in japan. Sounds like a good deal if a one way trip from Kyoto to Tokyo is $150. I'll be using the pass daily, but the Kyoto to Tokyo trip is the longest ride for me.

Did anybody go to Mount Koya San? It's a little out of the way, maybe i won't go.

Question Figmental: in your 'Random Japan' album, some of your pictures looked like you zoomed in/out while you simultaneously took the shot. For example, the picture of the cherry blossom, or the castle and the pine tree... I notice there was more "zoom" effect on the right side of your photos...how do you do that? How do you choose which area of the picture is in focus and other parts are blurred? Is it me or something else?

Dunno what's with losing casino players and FA*200's but their casinos are definitely worth a visit!

That forum seems like a swell place to visit! Txs for sharing... (don't think I will visit that any time soon... )

I will second this post; as an ex-Tokyoite who lived there for many many years, the Pentax Forum in the basement of Mitsui Building in Shinjuku was about as close to Pentax paradise as you could get and many a lazy Sunday afternoon was spent there looking and playing with gear.

As Matt said, most glass that you would kill to put your hands on was on display for testing and if you gave the staff your driver's license, they used to let you take almost any lens out for a quick 30 minute walkaround.

The best thing was that since it wasn't a sales store, you could browse without interference from staff. Definitely a must-see for anyone heading to Tokyo.

For any Pentaxian heading to Tokyo the Forum is a worthwhile visit. The attached Gallery was great and an exhibition runs all the time.
